interested in sustainable packaging design.
Jessica Deseo is an independent creative with a background in graphic design. She has worked in all aspects of design, from the studio to in-house design, packaging, and, for the past eight years, teaching packaging design at ArtCenter College of Design. There, she has been a strong advocate for sustainable practices in the packaging curriculum, transforming the entire design model to incorporate sustainable design principles. Since 2018, with her guidance students have won prestigious design awards for their sustainable concepts. Awards include D&AD, The One Show, Core77, Pentawards, and many others.
In addition to teaching, Jessica has written various articles on sustainability for The Dieline and has spoken about sustainable design, and design trends related to sustainability at conferences such as Advertising Week, and HOW Design Live. She has been a guest lecturer at the School of Visual Arts Master’s in Branding Program where she spoke on branding, design, and internet design critics.
She is a partner at PRINT Magazine, a graphic design online magazine that has been in existence since 1940. In addition, she has served as a mentor for the New Museum of Contemporary Art, and jury for 2023 Young Ones, Sin Peña con Gloria for Costa Rica Design Week 2022, and New Visual Artists.
